holiday happenings

I have not posted a blog for awhile but have still been getting involved in creative pursuits. I enjoyed lots of cretive inspiration in Melbourne last week. I had such fun at the ABBA exhibiton - they were such an amazing creative team making some of my favourite music of all time. I also went to the Tim Burton Retrospective exhibit, I was amazed to see how many drawings, paintings and scultures Tim had done over his careerer. I was also able to go to the European Masters exhibition, and loved seeing some beautiful paintings and scultpures from some of my favourite artist, such as Monet, Dagas and Renoir. I also discoverd an artist I didn't know of - max Beckmann who was a German artist who was driven out of Germany by Hitler.
I love all the street art in Melbourne too - there is a photo that I have included that is of a chalk footpath artist. I also got a few more pictues of lamps in Melbourne which I hope to take some time to draw or paint.

I also had fun creating a cheese feast from the Vic markets.

well happy creating.

I have been working on my photo collage of the street I live in. It's called Low st. I think it would be interesting to see these photos of the places of the street in a few years time to see what has changed over time. Thinking about how many of these place are relatively new for my town, I'm sure there will be lots more changes.

a dinner inspiration

Tonight I was inspired to  be a bit more creative and experimental with dinner tonight. I made a yummy vego meal - moroccan mushrooms with couscous and made a few changes of my own. Then I had some fresh strawberries that I wanted to use so I have my first try as making sorbet, again I so love the bright red colour of the strawberries. Ah there is my love of red again...

water colour inspirations

The Creative every day challenge theme for this month is water. I was inspired to do some more playing with water colour after my attempts a few weeks ago. I also decided to just use a couple of colours and play with the hue and tone of them. It was fun just to play and see what reults I got.

I've had a fun afternoon cerating some yummy stuff. I have my frist attempt at strawberry Jam - can't beleive how red and lucious strawberries make Jam. Then I tried a chicken dish for dinner, it was lemon and honey marinade roasted chicken, with homemade preserved lemons, home grown parsley and yummy kalamata olives on a bed of moroccan couscous. Very yummy with a a glass of mascato.

a creative idea

Well it's been a while between drinks but I have been working on a few creative ideas. Firstly I have taken some of the photos for the my street collage that I am planning to do. I have also been busy our school fete where I got to paint lots of faces. Yesterday I had another creative idea for our school bookweek for next term. Our theme is let books take you anywhere, which will have a travel / multicultural theme. I have started seeking out photos of people reading in locations from all over the world - seeing reading as a global thing. I am looking forward to seeing how it will turn out. If you want to get involved with a photo of your own please let me know.
